Visit to the American Museum, Bath and the Kith & Kin Exhibition
On 18th March 2026, along with members of Bourne Quilters, we had a coach trip to the American Museum, Bath, where there was an amazing exhibition of quilts made by the Gee’s Bend group in America. We also visited the museum which holds an historic collection of quilts and other textiles. On route the coach stopped at Midsomer Quilting which opened up specially for us and kindly provided tea, coffee and biscuits.

2026 Charity Workshop Day
Members ran a charity workshop day on Friday 13th March at the Community Centre when they made cushion covers for the Age Concern centre on Hayling Island. Members donated their time, fabric and cushion pads to produce some brilliant cushions. A number of cushions were completed on the day, with some to be finished at home. More are being made by members who were unable to attend the workshop. During the morning our local MP, Alan Mac, visited the workshop. The ladies enjoyed a splendid ploughman’s lunch organised by the Chair of the group, Taryn Samways. Pictures of all the cushions will shortly be posted on this website.
